Voice of Palestine (February 2nd, 2013)

This week Voice of Palestine features a wide-ranging interview with Dana Olwan, Asst. Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies at Syracuse University. Dana talks about the role of Palestinian women, the connection of the Palestinian grassroots movement with Idle No More and the indigenous struggle, as well as what is happening on the Palestinian scene following the UN vote last November. Dana also detailed the report she co-authored with Mike Krebs, entitled “From Jerusalem to the Grand River, Our Struggles are One“.

Our closing piece of music is by Palestinian singer Camillya Jubran, “About a Human Being”, based on a poem by Mahmoud Darwish, and we dedicate it to the indigenous people of the world, from Turtle Island to Palestine. The struggle continues.
